The predominantly black upper of this year’s Black History Month Air Force 1 is a nod to the past, because in the early years of the basketball, shoes on the court were almost always black. The highlights of gold throughout the upper, which is constructed from Stetson leather and features a woodblock cut print by African American artist Hele Woodruff, is a reminder of the golden moment we all are striving to achieve in our lives. Further details include a custom tongue tag with the roman numeral XXXV printed on it (35th Anniversary of Black History Month) and the letters “BHM” embroidered across the heel. Set to release February 12th at Sole Boutique.
