Life has a way of leading us down a certain path. We at Sole Boutique have always been in the state of mind to help others less fortunate, we have had many seeds sown for us and it is only right that we sow seeds as well. Since we opened doors we have been very involved with the Boy's & Girls' Club of San Antonio and sponsor and donate for the Back to School Jamboree, we also participate in The Adopt a Family Campaign every Christmas and have donated to The Children's Shelter. I had an experience that will for ever change my views, I was walking out of a convenience store and a homeless man told me I had nice shoes on. He had some plastic bags wrapped around his feet, I proceeded to ask him if he knew his shoe size and he told me 11.5. It was fate that I happened to have an extra pair of shoes and I told him that I wanted him to have them. I wish that I could have captured the look of joy in his face, I left feeling very fulfilled and determined to begin a new crusade. I have many shoes that I never wear that are gently worn and I will begin to go around San Antonio, helping out those folks in need of shoes and something warm to wear. We will begin to collect shoes at the shop if you want to join us in this campaign, if you know of folks in need of shoes or clothing please provide us with the location. God has blessed my family and I want to make a difference in other's lives. We all have gently worn shoes that just sit and collect dust, if you can find it in your heart to help us it is greatly appreciated, if not simply help us spread the word. God bless everyone and hope everyone has great holidays.

So the NBA Players Union have decided to decline the owners latest offer and disband the Union. I am a huge NBA fan, but in a day where people are fighting to keep what little they have and small businesses are closing left and right, I have no compassion for either side. Left out are the workers such as parking attendants, ticket takers, concession workers and the like at the AT&T Center will be looking to find a way to pay the bills, while these folks fight over billions in revenue. Most of these employees make minimum wage and do it because they are passionate about the job they do and it is there way of life. Most people live check to check and my heart and prayers go out to these folks (the working class). To borrow the words from a Wrestling group, I have 2 words for the NBA Owners & Players Union "Suck It".It's to bad there isn't a nation wide movement to boycott the NBA, people should stop buying season tickets, jersey's, watch it on tv and so forth. Let the NBA feel it!

With all the excitement of the Nike Air Mag from the movie Back To The Future 2, it's really made reflect. The movie released in 1989 and showcased many technologically advanced gadgets, but as far as I can see the only thing that has mad a mark in the last 10 years has been apple products. Where are the hovering skate boards, the self drying jackets, flying cars and all the cool stuff that was supposed to be around? The only thing that has been seen is that bootleg Jordan's are probably made out of better quality materials than actual Jordans, Windows OS still sucks, gas is more than $1.50 (showing my age here), the Cowboys are still horrible. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.

It seems surreal that we are approaching Sneaker Palooza Volume 3. Through hard work and dedication we have seen the event blossom and is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events in San Antonio. We still remember the critics saying that we would fail, the mocking when Biz fell thru and how we where not a legit show. We kept focus and put our faith knowing that we walked in God's favor and blessings and that no weapon formed against us would prosper. We have been very blessed to have had Wale perform for Volume 1 and Mr. Bentley and Talib Kweli for Volume 2 and the support of the local artist, graffiti artist, bboys and girls, spoken word poets, dj's, performers and sneaker enthusiast. We are excited and working on taking the event to the next level and are very very humbled by your support. For the 3rd year, Sole Boutique sponsored the SA Boys & Girls Club Back to School Jamboree at Candlewood Elementary. DJ AOK & AJ Hernz lent their talents to make this event a success. We have been very blessed in our 3 years of business and feel the need to give back. Hope the kids have a great 2011 school year.

Sole Boutique is sponsoring annual San Antonio Boys and Girls Club Back to School Jamboree for the 3rd year in a row. We need your help. Bring school supplies by the shop and you will receive 10% off your purchase. The Jamboree is August 5th and we would love to bring the kids that participate some much needed school supplies. The kids that are involved are all given a new pair of kicks for school by Sole Boutique. We realize that things are tight for everyone, but anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
